Meet Your Instructors
Dr. Hallie Armstrong
Dr. Hallie Armstrong is a naturopathic doctor with extensive experience in immune support, hormones, gut health, and nervous system support. She has spent much of her career at Beaumont Health Now Corwell Health, where she’s helped integrate natural approaches into a conventional medical setting.
Dr. Hallie has also worked closely with the University of Arizona’s Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, training residents in evidence-based natural medicine. She is a seasoned educator and has led hundreds of group sessions and seminars through her online platform she developed with her naturopathic colleague and best friend, Dr. Tanya O'Brien, 2 Naturopathic Moms LLC—empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their health through sustainable, holistic strategies.

Gabriella Canu CNS Intern
Gabriella “Gabby” Canu is a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) intern working under the mentorship of Dr. Hallie Armstrong. She holds a Master of Science in Integrative Medicine from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Oakland University.
Gabby’s journey into integrative medicine began with her own experience navigating Crohn’s Disease, which led her to focus on root-cause healing after years of conventional treatments fell short. Her clinical interests include gut health, hormonal imbalances, HPA axis dysregulation, autoimmune conditions, and sports nutrition.
Outside of the clinic, Gabby enjoys weightlifting, running, pickleball, country music, and reading. She’s passionate about empowering others to take charge of their health through personalized, nutrition-focused care.Â

Dr. Patty Guisinger
Dr. Guisinger started her career in Podiatry in Apena in 1994 and eventually came to Holland, MI, to open up her own practice, Northwood Foot and Ankle, in 1999. She owned and managed the practice for many years, during which she discovered that many patients’ podiatric conditions could be improved through the application of Functional Medicine therapeutics. In the early 2000s, Dr. Guisinger, in consultation with leading midwestern Functional Medicine practitioners, began successfully using Functional Medicine therapeutics with her podiatric patients. On September 1, 2024, Dr. Guisinger retired from podiatry to pursue a full-time career in Functional Medicine. In early 2024, she completed her 2-year medical certification program at Functional Medicine University and has been teaming with many well-known Functional Medicine Doctors throughout Michigan and other states. She is passionate about supporting individuals in balancing their hormones and discovering the root causes of their health concerns so they can finally feel the changes they’ve been hoping for.Â
